Late Summer Tea

We’re having an unusual amount of thunder and lightening the last 24 hours. Thankfully nothing too severe, but just enough to keep one on their toes. The light show last evening was most impressive. Mother Nature just showing off!

During a brief respite between the gathering afternoon thundershowers, I gathered a wee bouquet in my small Burleigh ‘Blue Calico’ jug, some mini macarons on my Burleigh saucer, and my favorite decaf tea — Yorkshire Tea in my new Burleigh mug. Since it’s later in the day, the decaf settles better for me and Yorkshire has the BEST-tasting decaf in my opinion.

Although my odd photos don’t do it justice, I am particularly fond of this lovely little bouquet which is comprised of two different types of hydrangeas that are starting to turn their late, rich colors and some deep burgundy coleus which give a nice contrast to the lighter hydrangea blooms. Of course, a fern frond accents it all because we have hundreds of ferns growing in the woods right now.

I can’t believe the Labor Day holiday is less than two weeks away. Summer is always far too short here in Maine. But we’ll enjoy the warm weather as long as it sticks around.

Cheers!
