The dangers of scrolling through Etsy is that you’ll end up buying something whether you need it or not. Such was the case when I did a search for dessert tongs. Yes, I found the tongs, but I also saw a box of shortbread pop up. Did I purchase both? Why, yes. Yes, I did purchase both.

The tongs are a terrific Italian Silver Plate Pastry Cake Tongs, Vintage Mid-Century Style to add to my collection for serving desserts….for all those big tea parties I have. Well, the parties of one. I love them! They arrived very quickly and are in great shape. Once I give them a quick silver polish, they’ll add a nice formal touch to teas. Ordered from Mid Mod Tempo in South Carolina.

The shortbread? Well, that’s from Scottish Fix in Danbury, CT. I purchased the Half & Half box which contained six biscuits each of Ghirardelli chocolate and Traditional shortbread with a sprinkling of sparkling sugar. Shipping was very quick and there was a lovely handwritten note from owner Angus Scott tucked into the cute box stamped with a Scottie dog.

I enjoyed them with my favorite Scottish Tain pottery and some Yorkshire tea with the biscuits on a tartan platter.

I am really itching to get outside and enjoy a tea on the deck, but Mother Nature has other plans with random bursts of heavy snow, rain, and sleetiness mixed in. ‘Tis the season! April is usually a rainy month for us anyway.
Cheers!
