Tea and Macarons Back Home

After a scary incident on an escalator in South Station, I arrived back home in Maine yesterday after a seamless escort front the hotel and a comfortable 3-hour bus ride near my home. It was nice to see my husband waiting at the station with a kiss and a hand with my luggage. Our kitty cats appeared happy to see me as well.

Tea and macarons outside on the deck

This morning, I am sitting out on our deck enjoying some Abigail’s Blend tea in my souvenir Boston Tea Party teacup. I love the delicate, almost hand-forged look of the cup and saucer. As someone with a shaky tea hand, I especially like the larger handle on the cup where I feel I have a much better grip on the cup itself.

I almost forgot I had picked up a dozen macarons from Jolie Tea Company! I am enjoying their vanilla, earl grey, and pumpkin spice delights with my tea. The earl grey is an explosion of strong flavors, while the vanilla is subtle as is the pumpkin spice. All are excellent!

As I type this outside, a blue heron is sauntering through the muck on the other side of the stream, the leaves are falling, and the sound of our little pond on the deck is trickling away. Although we enjoyed four wonderful days of high-end hotel living, fabulous afternoon teas and riviting museums, I did miss spending more time in an outdoor natural space.

I have many more photos and many videos from the trip that I haven’t shared on the blog yet. I like to take the time to go through them, crop and edit and put them together with music. SO…this journey is not over just yet. Stay tuned!

Cheers!
