A Winter’s Tea

January settled upon us with a cold fury! Many nights dipped well below zero degrees, and a brief, but potent snow storm blanketed the entire state with a foot or more of snow.

February greeted us with more of the same. We’ve seen a few days of warmer temperatures, but not enough to melt the snow.

Even as the length of daylight increases, this is still the time of year for resting. Unless you’re a skier, then…well…have at it and enjoy a proper winter here in Maine!

It’s still the cozy season in my mind. With its muted shades of blue and gray, quiet stillness, and blankets of white, winter almost beckons one to stay calm and rest.

My thistle cup & saucer from Tain Pottery and a cozy blanket, create warmth with their shades of blue.

A modern white teapot, small white carnations, and white-tipped pinecones mirror the snow-covered tree branches and fields outside.

Salted caramel biscotti, Mexican wedding cookies, and bare-naked snowflake sugar cookies complement the spicy, warm chai in my cup.

Stay cozy my friends. Cheers!
