Happy March! It’s the season of many seasons here in Maine. We can get fall, winter, spring, and summer in a span of a week during March. OH, and we cannot forget mud season.
We have had a proper winter this season and it’s been nice to have that clean, white coating on the fields and lawns for months. I know it’s protecting spring flowers and plants until they are ready to push through the soil and shows themselves. But…that is still a long way off.
All I can do for now is drink my tea, read my magazines, and dream of warmer temps and things growing outside my window.

I grabbed a lovely vintage Mikori Ware teapot and tray. The set is made in Japan probably from the 1940-1950’s. Where the pottery shows its age with cracking on the glazing, the beautiful hand-painted flowers are delightfully intact on top of the glaze. It’s worth a closeup look at the photos below.

After getting a hair cut in Oakland, I ran across the street to Sunrise Bagel and picked up two of their yummy cranberry, glazed scones. I had hoped for some croissants, but they sell out pretty quickly early in the morning and I was there during the lunch hour. The scones did NOT disappoint. Yummy!

A Scottish Breakfast loose leaf tea from Scotch & Abrams Tea Co. offered from Teadog.com added a robust, malty richness. I buy my decaf Yorkshire Tea from Teadog. I was previously buying it from the big company that starts with the letter “A”, but they actually purchase it from the UK and I had to wait a long time to get it. Teadog is out of stock at the moment, but hopefully they’ll get more soon as I am almost out. Yorkshire decaf is the best tasting decaffeinated black tea in my opinion.
