The weather in Maine this Labor Day weekend was spectacular! No rain, light winds, warm/hot temperatures and loads of sunshine. Absolutely no complaints for this last unofficial weekend of summer.
I enjoyed tea out on the deck every morning, but this morning I chose items with a touch of pink or lavender…or dusty rose. Even the tea I chose this morning has a pink-like theme as I chose the fabulous Rose Pouchong tea from Fortnum & Mason.

I forget I have this lovely, rose teapot with it’s muted tones of pink and a lovely “bud” lid handle. It’s tucked away in a side cabinet and not exactly front & center like my other numerous collections of patterns. It has a rounded, soft shape and style. And it pours like a charm. I need to use this more, especially since it held a floral arrangement I had ordered and sent to my late mother on Mother’s Day many years ago. Once the flowers had long-passed, she kept the teapot displayed on her desk.

The Royal Albert china teacup & saucer were chosen for the peach & burgundy rose pattern, but mainly for the subtle, pink-rose damask pattern in the background. The gold accents on the edges of the teacup and saucer add a regal touch to tea time.

My mini hydrangeas are starting to turn their lovely shades of burgundy out on the deck and brought some depth of color in a wee bouquet as well as the dusty rose placemat I used on the table.

There are chorus’ of crickets now throughout the day as the light shifts angles in the sky and we have fewer hours to enjoy it. Although I am not a fan of hot & muggy weather, we’ll take this one last gasp of summer. Fall is coming and all the spices and coziness it brings.
Love & peace
Heidi
