While looking at my Facebook feed this morning, a photo memory from last year popped up. Ugh! It was a snow-covered shot and there was still ice on the stream. Well, THIS year is much, much better. It’s still chilly out, but no snow or ice and the sun is shining brightly.

Then as I was looking out the window whilst standing in the warm sun, I saw a large American robin hopping around on the banking and knew spring IS truly on it’s way. At least that’s what I’m told. So, I opted for a lovely green tea this morning.
Those of you who know me or follow my blog might now I’m not a huge green tea drinker. I have yet to find THE green tea for me. I’m much more of a strong, black tea drinker. However, today I was in the mood for something lighter to celebrate this lovely morning.
I found a far of Pi Lo Chun China green snail spring tea from Upton Tea Imports in my tea cabinet. As soon as I opened the lid of the jar, I knew it was the right decision for the mood I’m in this morning. Not only does it have a savory, light scent, but the leaves give the impression of buds popping up through the earth.

As the hot water touches the tea “buds” they unfurl into a beautiful forest in the teapot. I’m so glad I used the clear glass teapot to view this.

The flavor is strong, but not the usual medicinal flavor I associate with green tea. There is a nuttiness to it that I quite enjoy. I need to remember this lovely brew and try to indulge all of my senses a wee bit more. Happy Spring!
